Concrete Finishers

Position Overview

CLMC is seeking experienced concrete finishers for concrete repair, flatwork, steps, stoops, and related projects at residential and commercial properties across Chicagoland. The work is field-based and takes place at active job sites throughout the region.

Typical Responsibilities

• Concrete preparation, forming, and placement
• Building and setting wood forms for steps, stoops, slabs, and flatwork
• Placing reinforcement and rebar to layout
• Screeding and floating concrete to grade
• Trowel finishing and broom finishing to spec
• Concrete steps, stoops, and entry landings
• Concrete flatwork including walks, patios, and driveways
• Concrete patching and repair of existing slabs and steps
• Demolition and removal of existing concrete
• Job-site protection and daily cleanup

Required Experience and Skills

• Demonstrated experience finishing concrete by hand
• Able to set forms, place and tie rebar, screed, float, and finish
• Broom finish and trowel finish to a clean, consistent surface
• Experience with concrete steps, stoops, and flatwork
• Concrete patching and repair experience
• Demolition and removal of existing concrete
• Reliable transportation to job sites across Chicagoland
• Safe work practices on residential and commercial properties

Preferred Experience

• Commercial concrete experience
• Experience with stamped or decorative concrete
• Power trowel and finishing machine experience
• Experience with concrete steps and stoops specifically

Work Location

This is a field-based position serving active masonry and concrete projects throughout Chicagoland. Qualified applicants will be contacted directly to discuss current opportunities. The specific jobsite, reporting location, schedule, and start time will be provided before each assignment.

• Work outdoors at active job sites in Chicago-area weather
• Travel between project locations across the region
• Hands-on concrete work with forms, rebar, and finishing tools

• Direct coordination with the crew lead on site
